Children and Young People

Developmental and cognitive problems affect learning and can make life difficult at school and at home. Our multi-disciplinary team of specialists in child and adolescent cognitive and mental health includes consultant psychiatrists and neurologists who are supported by behavioural, educational and clinical psychologists as well as speech and language therapists.

The breadth of our expertise means that we can offer a variety of assessment methods that are both structured and semi-structured. For example, when Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are suspected, we offer a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment package.

We assess, diagnose and treat

  • Anxiety
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Depression
  • Developmental delay
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Exam stress
  • Internet misuse and overuse
  • Self-harm
  • Substance abuse
  • Tic disorder
  • Tourette’s syndrome

For schools and universities

We assist schools and universities in supporting their students who are currently presenting with cognitive and behavioural symptoms. We understand that these are critical stages in their cognitive development and firmly believe that early intervention and diagnosis of such problems can benefit, significantly, an individual’s future potential.

Management includes speech and language therapy, behavioural coaching and psychological therapy for children and their families; all of which are designed to help our young patients achieve their full potential.
