P-tau 217 Blood Test
Advanced biomarker testing
The p-tau 217 test measures a specific tau protein in your blood that is closely linked to the presence of Alzheimer’s disease. It offers a non-invasive, highly accurate, and early way to assess tau-related brain changes.
Why choose this test?
- Helps diagnose Alzheimer’s vs. other types of dementia
- Tracks disease progression
- Supports clinical trial eligibility
- Can identify changes even in people with mild cognitive symptoms
- Cost: £695
Advantages
- Blood test (no lumbar puncture required)
- High accuracy, supported by research
- Useful for early detection and treatment planning
How it works
Your blood sample will be sent to a specialist laboratory in Boston, USA, as this test is not yet available commercially in the UK. You will receive your results within 2 weeks and these results will be explained to you by one of our doctors.

APOE Gene Test
The APOE gene test identifies which version of the APOE gene you carry, e2, e3, or e4. These genes can affect your risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. However, carrying a higher-risk gene does not mean you will definitely develop Alzheimer’s.
What to expect
Simple blood test
Results available within 14 days, explained by a clinician
Cost £560 (paid on the day)
Why test for the APOE gene?
- Understand your genetic risk for Alzheimer’s
- Support entry into clinical trials and research
- Help guide future treatment decisions
- Identify risk for other conditions, such as cholesterol-related disorders
- Understanding your results Everyone inherits two APOE genes, one from each parent.
Please note: APOE testing indicates risk only, not a diagnosis. It’s important to speak with a healthcare professional to fully understand what your results mean for your health.
